Mazuecos demands immediate solutions to the City of Lorca and the Ministry of Education so that the educational communities that make use of this school dining room can regain normalcy soon.
They warn that the poor state of the drainage system was denounced several times by the parents themselves and that could have been avoided, as it is a direct consequence of a "badly planned start" of these facilities.
The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos has lamented the fortuitous closure of the school cafeteria of the CEIP San Fernando, due to the rupture of the drainage pipes of these facilities.
A closure that has meant that during the day yesterday none of the students have been able to make use of this school dining room, because the wastewater has flooded a good part of these facilities, causing that they could not be used by the students nor by The staff responsible for the elaboration of the menus, with which the children have had to eat sandwiches instead of their corresponding hot menu.
The Socialist mayor has denounced that this lamentable event is "direct consequence" of the bad execution since the beginning of the works this school dining room.
Mazuecos recalled that the bad state of the drainage system has already been denounced several times previously by the parents themselves and mothers of the center, who already warned of errors in the operation of the same shortly after its opening.
It is therefore, according to the Socialist councilor, "a problem that could have been avoided", if Ayuntamiento de Lorca and the Ministry of Education would not have consented to start mistakes in the planning and execution of this school cafeteria.
In this sense, and with the evidence of what happened yesterday, Mazuecos has assured that the drainage system installed in this center "did not meet the standards designed for this type of facilities."
"From there," he adds, "to the problems that very soon began to occur, a few months after its inauguration, until today it has finally collapsed."
In addition, Mazuecos reproaches both Education and the City of Lorca itself "the nil diligence, and of course, the little attention to this educational community, because during all this time have ignored some complaints that, sadly, have resulted in the closure Obliged of this dining room.
From the PSOE expect that soon this problem will be solved and can recover the normality, precisely because of the necessary school lunch service, vital to ensure the reconciliation of work and family life.
Finally, Mazuecos wanted to "recognize the outstanding work of the staff of the school and the school's own dining room" for the special attention shown after this event that has forced the dozen schoolchildren to leave the center without being able to enjoy this benefit, in Conditions.
