22 comparsas will participate on 18, 25, 26 February and 4 March in the acts that the Department of Culture has organized to celebrate the Carnival (17/02/2017)

The program will begin with the presentation of the three figures of Carnival, Reina, Musa and Momo in the War Theater.

Continue with the Great Carnival Parade that will tour the main streets of the city, the next day with the Parade and Children's Party and end with the representations of the different comparsas who have participated in the Lorca Carnival

The Councilor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, presented this morning the program of the Lorca carnival, to be held on 18, 25, 26 February and 4 March and which will involve more than 2,000 people and 22 comparsas, which means that they have joined this party 6 more than last year.

Agustín Llamas explained that "the program will start tomorrow, Saturday, February 18 at 7 pm at the Teatro Guerra with the presentation of the three figures of the Carnival, Reina, Musa and Momo, the first of which will be represented this year by the comparsa Of the AMPA of the Campillo school, the second by the Youth Association of La Viña, and the third by the comparsa Fantasia Barriera.

Councilman of Festajos added that "the events continue on Saturday February 25 at 6 pm with the Great Carnival Parade that will leave from San José and will cross the streets Pérez Casas, Nogalte, Cuesta de San Francisco, Prince Alfonso, Ovalo and Avenida Juan Carlos I until finishing in the Palace of the Orchard Ruano.It is important to note that this year the parade will have two floats, one for the character of the Queen of Carnival and another for the Muse.

Llamas said that "Carnival Sunday, February 26, is a day dedicated to children, as it will be held the Children's Parade that will take place from 12 hours from the neighborhood of San José and will run through Nogalte Street, Calle Corredera, Calle Álamo and Plaza de España, where there will be a party. In addition, there will be prizes for the best children's costume for boys and girls, the best group costume and the Children's Queen of Carnival ".

The Edil de Festejos has stated that "the program of the Lorca carnival will end on March 4 with the performances of the various comparsas who have participated in our carnival, will take place at 7 pm at the Teatro Guerra. Will deliver a souvenir for all those people who with their presence in the various events have collaborated in the carnival party in Lorca. "

Agustín Llamas has informed that "the comparsas that participate in this edition are: The pekes of Anaís, Colegio Juan González, School Virgen de las Huertas, School Andrés García Soler, Comparsa Fantasia Barriera, AMPA of Colegio Campillo, Comparsa La Torrecilla, Association of San Juan Vineyard, Women's Association of Campillo, Popular University, Carmen Franco Ballet, Purias College, Bolivian Heart Association of America, Narciso Yepes School, Choruses and Danzas Virgen de las Huertas and as a novelty La Compara La Viña de San Juan, La Viña Youth Association, Comparsa Marielem, Carpe Diem, Latino Heart and Typical Dance of the East Ecuadorian Carnival.

The Councilor of Festivities has encouraged "Lorca and visitors to participate and enjoy this festival, which is the result of the efforts of day care centers, schools, families, neighborhood associations and other groups, with the encouragement of the City of Lorca.
