Consuelo Cano indicated that Law 6/2012 of June 29, on Tax, Social, Economic and Administrative Measures of the Region of Murcia amended Decree 126/2010, of May 28, establishing changes in the calculation that determines the monthly contribution Of the elderly, users of the residences of the elderly of the Region of Murcia.

"The regional government, last January, settled the debt of the extraordinary payment that maintained with the officials of the Autonomous Community. This has not been the case with users of nursing homes, who were affected by the same law previously And that, to date, this loss of rights has not been restored. "

The deputy socialist recalled that with that change began to include the extraordinary payments that these people charged in the calculation basis that determines the monthly contribution of the same to the residences;

"A contribution that, until then, only took into account the twelve ordinary payments of the year."

Cano said that the users of nursing homes are a particularly vulnerable group, "which has been weakened by the numerous cuts and legislative changes in public pensions, bearing a large part of the sacrifices at this time."

In this sense, he criticized that the response of the PP governments to the economic crisis was always in the same sense: "cut and stick your hand in the bread drawer, shaking the most disadvantaged, the weakest, Of nut more to other cuts in matter of pensions, co-payments, rates etc. ".
