Pre-employment workshops to promote labor integration (20/03/2017)

The Councilor for Social Services of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, visited this morning three workshops pre-work in computer science, Roman mosaics and organic agriculture, which are taught in Lorca within the Program for Rehabilitation and Labor Insertion are carried out thanks to a Collaboration agreement, which has been signed since the year several years, between the Association Murcian Psychosocial Rehabilitation and the Consistory lorquino.

Fátima Mínguez explained that "the general objective is to promote the acquisition, recovery or enhancement of knowledge, work habits and skills necessary to reach the socio-labor integration of the intervention group. The beneficiaries of this project are people living at risk of social exclusion "It should be noted that in 2016 72 people participated in this program, of which 57 developed pre-work workshops and 7, after finishing the training, found employment."

The Councilor for Social Services has indicated that "pre-employment training consists of training actions whose objective is the recovery, acquisition and maintenance of professional and transversal skills, allowing the acquisition of habits necessary for the development of a job (ability to adapt , Labor relations, quality and speed of production, change of tasks, initiative and completion of tasks, compliance with regulations and schedules, etc.), so this training is eminently practical ".

Mínguez emphasized that "the pre-work workshops that are being carried out in the headquarters of Lorca during this 2017 from the Program of Rehabilitation and Labor Insertion for people especially vulnerable or at risk of social exclusion with this special situation are the following:

Workshop of Roman Mosaics.

This workshop is a work of recovery, dissemination of heritage protection through the work developed there, specialized in the design and realization of recreations, replicas or reproductions of mosaics, aimed at the general public and, in particular, institutions Private and public.

The execution of the mosaic is carried out with artisan techniques following processes similar to those of the Roman world of 2000 years ago.

The historical recovery of this craft activity is therefore based on archaeological experimentation.

Through this workshop different techniques of mosaic have been promoted, using different materials to obtain handmade mosaics and thus achieve a work technique that, unlike other craft works, is practically accessible for all, and especially the collective Of students of this workshop, who have a history of drug use and / or affected by some mental pathology.

Since its beginnings, and so it is intended to continue during 2017, this workshop has been divided into two groups: one with more occupational characteristics that come in an afternoon shift (from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), scholarship Per day of attendance by the City of Lorca, and a group with pre-employment characteristics that attend in the morning (from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.).

As an element of diffusion of the workshop, this one has participated in different talks and events, being the most outstanding the one of FERAMUR (Official Fair of Handicraft of the Region of Murcia), where it has participated this year 2017 also.

In addition, 3 works of this workshop have been selected to participate this weekend in the Cartagena Biennial Project and the Regional Museum of Modern Art (MURAM).

Computer Workshop.

Among the knowledge imparted in this workshop are computer literacy, Internet, Microsoft Office, typing, as well as sending e-mails and searching for job offers on the Internet, etc.

In addition, the workshop participants prepare a magazine, completing their training, writing articles, looking for interesting news, using digital cameras and designing and editing the magazine.

Among the modules taught are: Typing, Office Package, Internet, Electronic documents and mail, and Training e-learning with qualification through courses of different Internet platforms (www.sefcarm.es).

Ecological Agriculture Workshop.

Users are trained in this workshop in the main tasks of organic farming and gardening: planting, watering, pruning, weeding, pest control and disease control.

All this following the regulation of the Regulatory Council of Organic Agriculture of the Region of Murcia, whose certification as an ecological plot was granted in 2012 and is being renewed every year.

Given the current awareness of the impact that industrialized farming has on the environment and the risks to people and wildlife, ecological cultivation and its demand by consumers increases.

Therefore, taking advantage of this boom, the workshop includes training in ecological agriculture, putting their knowledge and skills into practice through an orchard of ecological cultivation.
