The Department of the Environment carries out a campaign of planting of native species in the Cala de Calnegre with the participation of the schools of Ramonete and Morata (23/03/2017)

It is an initiative that aims to increase the green mass of this wonderful natural enclave of the municipality, with the planting of palmito, esparto, fennel, lotus, ephedra and limonium.

Councilor for the Environment in the City of Lorca, Satur Martínez, has reported that the Municipal Consistory is conducting during the last days a campaign of planting of native species in the Calnegre Creek with the collaboration of children from the schools of Ramonete and Morata .

Satur Martínez has indicated that Calnegre Creek has been the scene of revegetation with various native species thanks to the collaboration of the students of the Ramonete and Morata Schools.

We are talking about an enclave of special singularity due to its relevant natural values, its landscape surroundings and the quality of its waters, located within the Regional Park of Cabo Cope and Puntas de Calnegre, declared as such by Law 4/1992 of July 30 , Planning and Protection of the Territory of the Region of Murcia.

The Edil de Medio Ambiente explained that the first activity was completed last Monday with the participation of the mentioned schoolchildren, being planned later to complete the plantation with the collaboration of the Scout Group of Lorca.

This project aims to raise awareness among children about the correct use of the common environment and nature.

Satur Martínez has stated that it is planned to plant a total of 50 palmito and 50 other esparto plants, from a grant from the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the General Subdirectorate of Forestry Policy of the General Directorate of Rural Development And Forestry.

Likewise, the municipality of Lorca has provided 45 units of Fennel, 45 lotus, 45 Ephedra and 90 Limonium.

It should also be noted that all species are indigenous, adapted to the soil and climate of these environments, thus maintaining the stability of ecosystems and favoring their integration into the landscape.

The effort, commitment and commitment made over the Cala de Calnegre in recent years make it worthy during three editions of the Flag Ecoplayas, taught by the Technical Association for Waste Management, Urban Waste and Environment (Ategrus).
