The Council of Government has authorized, at the proposal of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, the contracting of the conditioning and construction of a new access road and connection of the castle of Lorca in the south with its urban center, with a total budget of 2,411. 255 euros.
The new road will improve the conditions of traffic, accessibility and security to important cultural and tourist infrastructure of Lorca, such as the castle and the National Parador of the city.
The investment will be made in two annuities, the first this year with 2.138.496 euros and another in 2018, with 272.759 euros.
The new road will expand the platform adequately to the traffic that currently supports the road, which presents deteriorations and deformations that significantly hinder the passage of vehicles.
In addition, the new infrastructure will give more stability to the slopes of the road, which at present are formed by rocky masses disintegrated and unstable and sometimes cause landslides on the road and interrupt access to the castle.
Likewise, signaling and drainage of the road will be improved, in order to avoid the accumulation of water on the platform of the road.
