The Ministry of Health leaves Lorca without supply of the vaccine against the Human Papilloma Virus (15/05/2017)

Sánchez Jódar says that the PP Regional Government has made it an odyssey for lorquinas to access the vaccine against the so-called papillomavirus, since the exhaustion of stocks in the municipality forces them to have to make a true pilgrimage to obtain it

Remember that this vaccine can prevent most causes of cervical cancer in women, if applied before exposure to the virus.

Also vaginal and vulvar cancer in women, as well as genital warts and anal cancer in both men and women.

Once again, the PSOE Vice-Speaker in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has been forced to denounce the exhaustion of units of certain types of vaccines in health centers in the municipality of Lorca.

Remember that in the midst of the flu vaccination campaign, Sanidad left Lorca without a single dose.

Now it has hit the papillomavirus vaccine.

According to Sánchez Jódar, three weeks ago, the Ministry of Health communicated to all Lorca primary health care centers, through an internal circular, the exhaustion of doses of this vaccine in the municipality.

The absence of stocks became evident once the girls in the 11-year-old cohort, who could not be vaccinated in their respective schools during the current course, went to their health center to undergo revision, at which point , He says, have had to find the "surprise" that there were no stocks.

Similarly, Sánchez Jódar warns that the lack of units of this vaccine also affects women undergoing certain surgical processes, such as colonizations of the cervix uterus, and whose treatment requires the injection of this vaccine.

At this moment, when these women are aware that they can not find doses of this vaccine that they need "by prescription" is where "the odyssey begins" that the Regional Government of the PP has generated, and that forces these users to begin A "long pilgrimage" of "paperwork" and "comings and goings" to different health centers to obtain it.

In this sense, the Socialist mayor considers "shameful" the response that Sanidad has already offered to the different medical centers of the municipality, once the health officials communicated their complaint to Health and its request for the immediate restoration of the supply of this vaccine.

The Ministry of Health has responded by saying that "there will be no doses until September."

Sánchez Jódar recalls that this is not the first time that the Ministry of Health "closes the fist" when it comes to providing Lorca with the resources needed to deal "with guarantees" vaccination campaigns in the municipality.

The lack of doses for injections against HPV is in addition to the "premature exhaustion" of vaccines against influenza and pneumococcus in Lorca, which the PSOE also denounced last November.

For all this, from the Socialist Group once again demand that the Ministry of Health cease to serve "eagerly" the resources needed to cover vaccination campaigns in the municipality, and give "urgency" to all centers Doctors of primary care of the minimum quota of units that guarantee the supply for all the population that needs the injection against HPV and that has not been able to be vaccinated by the "bad" planning of the Regional Government.
