We must also promote the development of the autonomy of our elders. For this, the public services have to bet on the promotion of social participation and strategies that aim to energize this group. "

During his speech, Fulgencio Gil has highlighted the role of public administrations for this purpose.

"We need to promote policies aimed at promoting active aging, social participation, cognitive stimulation, healthy working life, fostering culture or understanding of new technologies, as well as any type of activity that arouses interest among the elderly Social protection has to be a priority to ensure safety as an inexcusable foundation of active aging.
