The City Council and the Department of Development accelerate the improvement of a new battery of 33 more streets in the neighborhood of San Cristóbal with a global investment of 7.5 million euros.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, together with the Director General for Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing of the Ministry of Development of CARM, Laura Sandoval Otálora, and Councilman of Works, Ángel Meca, supervised this morning the works of Improvement of the Tello street, one of the streets with more solera of the District of San Cristóbal, an urban area in which they are investing more than 7.5 million euros only in the matter of urban renovation, improvement of streets and squares.
The Mayor has pointed out that this is an action that has an investment close to 240,000 euros, and is expected to be completed this year.
The improvements in the Tello street respond to the firm commitment of this Municipal Administration with the neighbors of the district of San Cristóbal to improve its urban environment, street by street.
In the specific case of this the works have been started, covering a total area of ​​543 m2.
It is planned to install a new general supply network, which will have a length of 144 meters of ductile iron pipe of one meter in diameter, while the street will be provided with a separate sanitation and rainwater network of 144 meters PVC pipe.
For the rainwater network, another 100 linear meters of corrugated PVC pipe will also be run.
Fulgencio Gil said that the works in this way will allow it to be provided with an underground network of 125 meters intended for the underground channeling of public lighting, which will provide service to the new 9 Led luminaires, made of aluminum and placed on cast iron arms.
The Tello street will have thanks to this action of a new underground network for the distribution of electricity in low voltage, which will be enabled by the installation of 148 meters of pipelines whose objective is to allow the underground of low voltage lines.
The subsoil of the street will also house a network for the distribution of telecommunications services.
For this, 213 meters of pipelines will be made.
The Mayor has also indicated that the road will be incorporated into the "coexistence street" typology, in which priority is given to pedestrian use, allowing vehicles to be driven at a low speed, below 10 km / h. New prefabricated concrete pavement pavement of 24x16x8 cm, all over the street, without differentiation of level between road and sidewalks, differentiating these with different colored cobblestone, with a total area of ​​642.72 m2.
7.5 million in street improvements in San Cristóbal
The Mayor of Lorca recalled that the different streets of the neighborhood of San Cristobal consist, in general terms, the renovation of the pavement, replacement of services and burial of wiring, and installation of a new supply and sanitation network.
These improvement actions in the San Cristóbal neighborhood have been divided into two phases.
The first one includes Gilberte, Ponce de León, Rio Duero, Contreras, Tizón, Avellaneda and Ferrer trails.
The second phase of streets will involve an investment of 6 million euros, 26,000 square meters of pavement will be used, 1,116 square meters of asphalt, 323 new streetlights with low consumption LED luminaires will be installed, 5,500 linear meters of low voltage , 4,800 linear meters of supply lines, 4,400 square meters of sanitation pipelines, 2,220 linear meters of rainwater pipes and 6,670 linear meters of telecommunications wiring.
The actions in these streets are part of a much wider project of integral renovation of the Lorca neighborhood of San Cristóbal, which began in 2007, covers a total of 58 streets and involves an investment by the Community of more than 7, 5 million euros.
The works are financed by the Autonomous Community within the action plan that develops in the city with charge of the European Investment Bank (EIB) loan, and will be executed by the City Council.
