The Councilor for Education, Francisco Montiel, announced that "the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Autonomous Community has launched the call for individualized aid to school transport for students of compulsory levels of schooling in schools With public funds located in the territory of the Region of Murcia, facing the course 2017-2018.
The Councilor for Education has detailed that "the aids range from Primary Education, Secondary Education and Special Education to the second cycle of Early Childhood Education and Basic Vocational Training in the center that corresponds to them according to established school zoning, or in another center decided By the corresponding Schooling Commission in view of the impossibility of assigning them a place in a center dependent on the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports or by application of Special Education plans or programs that pursue a greater balance in the schooling of immigrant students between centers Public and concerted ".
"Individualized transport aid may also be granted to enable students at these levels of education to transfer to their respective homes on weekends when they can not use to attend the center of the school transportation routes contracted by the Ministry" .
"The objective of the aid is to collaborate in the transport expenses of students of those educational levels in public schools in the Region of Murcia that do not have a suitable teaching center at the level of studies that must take place in the locality or rural area where Have their family domicile fixed, or because there are no vacancies in these centers for them, given the impossibility of making use of the school transportation routes contracted for this purpose by the Ministry to attend said center, being therefore forced to travel by Their own means, "explained Montiel.
Another requirement for obtaining this aid is that the applicant must travel a distance of more than 3 kilometers from his home to the center or until the stop of the school transport service closest to his home, considering a single route through the itinerary shorter.
This distance should only be greater than 1 kilometer in the case of students affected by physical limitations of a motor type that must go to the center that corresponds to them according to the established zoning or to the one in which they had to be schooled due to their accessibility conditions.
The Edil de Educación has informed that "after its publication in the BORM yesterday, the ordinary deadline for submitting applications will be 15 calendar days. This deadline is applicable to all students who are enrolled in public education centers of the Region of Murcia ".
The Councilor for Education recalled that "the Autonomous Community will allocate a maximum amount of 170,000 euros to these grants."
The maximum amount of individualized school transport aid will be diversified according to the following scale of kilometers between the family home and the center:
Up to 5 kilometers: 347 euros student / course.
From more than 5 to 10 kilometers: 468 euros student / course
From more than 10 to 15 kilometers: 581 euros student / course.
Of more than 15 to 20 kilometers: 698 euros student / course.
From more than 20 to 30 kilometers: 866 euros student / course.
From more than 30 to 40 kilometers: 1,040 euros student / course.
From more than 40 to 50 kilometers: 1,214 euros student / course.
Of more than 50 kilometers: 1,386 euros student / course.
These aid measures are incompatible with those which govern, for the same purpose, the annual calls for scholarships and study grants of the Ministry responsible for education, unless it is established that the actual cost of their purpose exceeds the amount of aid obtained from In which case partial or total compatibility may be recognized, without in any case exceeding the cost of the purpose for which the aid was granted.
Applications must be made in the Secretariats of educational centers, one-stop shops and other established registers.
