Andrea Periago assures that the new Mayor and the councilors of the PP are not reliable, since those who now announce with great fanfare the creation of the Social Council of Equality are the same ones that have voted against this Council every time the Socialists have proposed it, and the same ones, in addition, that were in charge of eliminating the Municipal Council of the Woman in the year 2009

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Andrea Periago has demanded the heir of the Mayor of Lorca, Mr. Gil Jódar, and the new councilor of Equality, to take out of the drawer of the Council the Local Plan of Equality that the Party Popular kept in 2007. In addition, it calls for the elaboration and implementation of a plan of measures aimed at reconciling the family and work life of Lorca.

Andrea Periago has celebrated the "radical change" of the People's Party councilors in the matter of equality, after the recent announcement that they will launch the sectorial Council of Equality, so demanded in recent years by the PSOE and by the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca.

A change that Periago assures "has been made possible by the resignation of Mrs. Ibarra from her councilman's report."

Anyway, and although they see this amendment with good eyes, Andrea Periago says that "these councilors and this Mayor are not trustworthy" because he remembers that "today who announce with great fanfare the creation of the Social Council of Equality are the same Who have voted against this council whenever the Socialists have proposed, and the same in addition, who were in charge of eliminating the Municipal Council of Women in 2009. "

For all this, from the PSOE ask the new Mayor and the new Councilman to demonstrate "with facts" and "beyond photos and good intentions if they are for equality or if in fact it is one more pose of this government team" .

In this sense, they encourage the new Councilor to open the drawer where the PP kept the II Equality Plan between men and women in 2007, still pending review and development.

In the same vein, another initiative that the PSOE has demanded has been the development and implementation of measures that favor the reconciliation of Lorca's family and work life.

He assures that more and more public policies are needed to promote conciliation, since not all the weight, in this sense, can fall on companies.

Among the initiatives demanded by the socialist mayor, the impulse to ludotecas, children's schools and other family spaces, with less rigid formats and schedules, besides the offer of regulated education;

The maintenance of school canteens, especially in summer, as well as progress in the flexibilization of schedules of working days in public and private enterprise.
