The municipal group Citizens will present in the ordinary plenary of June a motion to set up a commission of experts for the preparation of a project and study on the creation and implementation of the Narciso Yepes Museum.
According to Antonio Meca "An artist of this size deserves the recognition of his countrymen, relevant and permanent to his illustrious son. For this reason we believe that a museum dedicated to his life, his work, his guitar, would be the maximum expression of honoring this Lorquino ".
On the other hand, the material of instruments, compositions, virtually unpublished recordings of his first classes, original scores and documentation referring to the figure of Narciso Yepes is enormous, which would constitute a fund for the museum very complete and attractive for the visitor.
"Installing this museum in the historic center, it would be possible to revitalize the area as it would undoubtedly attract the cultural tourism that Lorca visits, driving the visit to this enclave," explains the Councilor.
An ideal place because of its proximity to the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica, it is the adjoining house of the street Abad de los Arcos n ° 6, a historical place since the remains of the Gil de Ricla gate of the medieval wall are on this site.
Various personalities related to music and art, have been openly satisfied with the initiative, and could be part of the commission of experts proposed: Ignacio Yepes (his son), José Durán (only student of Narcissus in Lorca and teacher Andrés Martínez (director of the Archaeological Museum), Cristóbal Vougúmil (Professor of Musicology), Simón Ángel Ros (Architect), Antonio Manzanera (Director of the Municipal Band), Marcos de la Cruz (Director of the Conservatory of Music) ), José A. Jódar (professor of the Conservatory).
