This is an action that involves the investment of € 318,244.33 and is expected to be completed during the month of September.

The Edil de Obras has explained that the main objective of this intervention is the improvement of the road for the restitution of the firm, which presented a very high degree of deterioration, including other advances such as the incorporation of new measures to avoid the formation of floods in The road by accumulation of water in episodes of heavy rains, as well as the suppression of some curves whose route was excessively closed.

These improvements in the road network is making Lorca a municipality more cohesive, secure and better communicated

Ángel Meca stressed that the improvement of this route, which directly benefits more than 3,000 residents of both councils, is included in the planned actions of renovation of rural centers that are being carried out throughout the municipality of Lorca.

We are talking about a battery of interventions that aims to improve these communication infrastructures between our districts and the urban center.

Through its action will be made available to all citizens an important and alternative way of communication within our municipality.

The councilman of works has detailed that the section object of action runs parallel to the rambla of Biznaga and comprises a total length of 3.4 km, having its origin in the crossing with the roads of Catanga and Cañaveral.

The works provide for the cleaning and restoration of the margins of the road including the replacement of slopes necessary for the rebuilding of the berm where it has disappeared.

The restoration of ditches and cross-section works is also being carried out, including the incorporation of two new transverse drainage works consisting of the installation of a pipe of 800 mm diameter.

In addition, the protection of the road in the passage of the ravine of Mesillo is contemplated, enabling for it two rakes of reinforced concrete of 10 m of length, width of 0,50 m and depth of 1,50 m.

With this measure it is tried that the flood that causes the incorporation of the mentioned rambla to the rambla of Biznaga does not cause damages in the pavement of the highway.

Ángel Mecca has also anticipated that given the poor condition of the firm, the entire pavement will be completely renovated over most of the stretch.

A good quality esplanade will be obtained by means of the scarification and grinding of the present firm for its later compaction.

A layer of 10 cm artificial sawn shall be provided on the latter, which shall be the basis of a 8 cm thick rolling layer.

In the final part of the section, where there are areas with the firm in a more acceptable state, it is proposed the punctual repair of the most damaged areas and the incorporation of a 4 cm.

Meca Ruzafa has stressed that the ambitious Plan of Improvement of the Road Network of Lorca that is running the CARM through the Ministry of Development includes an extensive battery of actions that is being developed to improve all the autonomic roads of the municipality and that counts With an overall budget of 47.5 million euros.

In this series of interventions, the Aguaderas hamlet has already benefited from an investment of 2.45 million, which led to the integral improvement of the D-8 road, an important communication link between the urban center, the orchard and the Lorquina coast, used daily by 1,255 vehicles.
