The Town Hall Plenary gives a new impetus to make possible the construction of the new north road that will open the communication of the urban helmet through the Barrios Altos.
Councilor for Town Planning in the City of Lorca, Satur Martínez, has reported that the Municipal Consistory has given a new and decisive impetus to enable the communication of the town center of the municipality through the upper districts.
This is the north road, a path that will end the current situation of incommunication in this area of ​​the city, correcting a lack that we had set the challenge to solve, since we will enable a solution for the neighbors in this area With convenient, safe and quick access to your place of residence.
Martinez stressed that the project provides for the construction of a road to and from the Barrios Altos de Lorca, originating in the Ramblilla of San Lázaro and end at the roundabout of Santa Maria, with a length of 780 meters.
The width of the street will be 10 meters to the Plaza de la Coronela, from where it will be reduced to 8'5 meters due to the construction of security walls for the neighbors of the area.
La Edil de Obras has explained that these works will also include the rehabilitation of the sports court of Santa María, as well as the construction of a children's area and a viewpoint overlooking the city.
By the express indication of the Mayor, Fulgencio Gil, will also increase the safety of the rocky massif on which the castle sits, increasing the perimeter of the safety mesh that has been so good response in the last years since its installation.
Satur Martínez has stated that this is a project that presents a complex administrative procedure, which has been developing in parallel to the negotiations with the owners of adjacent plots.
We are talking about investments that are going to radically improve the communication of the high districts of our city.
They constitute a priority objective within the works of improvement of road infrastructures that we are executing and promoting from the Town Hall.
In fact, together with the construction of the central round, from the Apolonia neighborhood to the roundabout of the Águilas highway, it is the most important communications project of all those who will be executed.
The Edil de Urbanismo thanked the collaboration of the neighbors to promote this project, a predisposition that has allowed us to already have 19 of the 23 properties required to make this road reality, providing for even getting the remaining 4 in the coming weeks
The session of the Municipal Plenary held this morning has approved the acquisition of the land needed for the construction of this new route of communication in its sections I, II and III.
The execution of this road will require an investment of 3.5 million euros by the Autonomous Community and will mean an integral improvement of communications with the upper districts of the city.
The Municipal Plenum has also approved this morning to obtain land definitively by the joint appraisal procedure for the execution of the roundabout intersection of the Road RM-701 with access to the Castle of Lorca.
It has been approved with 19 votes in favor (PP and PSOE) and 3 abstentions (IU).
The Councilor for Urban Development has stated that "thanks to this agreement will be able to start running the roundabout at the intersection of the road of La Parroquia with the access road to the Castle that will be financed by the Autonomous Community with a budget of 1 '8 million euros.It is an equally important infrastructure for the development of the municipality, since it will improve the connections, speeding up exponentially the connections between the city and the Castle and, also, with the new Vial de los Barrios Altos.
In this sense, Martínez stressed that "all Lorca know the problems caused by the current access to the Castle from La Parroquia Road.To improve it is a necessity, because in addition the construction of the new roundabout will allow us to gain in security. Communications Lorca is being transformed and historical improvements such as the construction of the Central Round or the Vial of the High Barrios will mark a before and after in the way of moving through the municipality.
