The Lorca City Council is the one who first paid his bills from the large municipalities of Murcia, succeeding in eradicating previous practices of heavy payments like confirmaming and endorsements.
The Councilor for Economy and Finance in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, has reported that the Municipal Council has achieved a further reduction of municipal debt throughout the first half of the year.

It is possible to explain that this improvement of 1.6 million has been obtained in a very difficult scenario, since the Consistory has been forced to subscribe a loan to be able to pay the sentences derived from the urbanistic agreements approved alone by the PSOE.
In particular, this is a bank loan of 1.9 million euros which we have managed to subscribe with more advantageous conditions than usual, since we have adhered to the ICO line established by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, Which allows us a significant saving of interest, while improving the municipal liquidity and we benefit from a longer term to meet your credit.
Martínez Carrasco has explained that the challenge of the Local Executive is to comply with the established planning, so that the municipal debt figure does not involve the heavy burden on which had become, and that placed the Consistory in a situation of technical bankruptcy.
During the last years, and thanks to the work and the awareness of all the municipal areas, the economic health of the City council has improved significantly.
The evolution is notorious, we have abandoned burdensome payment systems such as "confirming" and endorsements, and now we are among the large murcian municipalities which previously paid its suppliers.
This is indicated by the most recent data provided by the Ministry of Finance.
The Councilor for Finance has stated that another of the figures that has been improved is the Negative Remnant of Treasury, whose amount has been drastically reduced, going from -32 million to -8 in just 5 years.
We are talking about a figure that is expected to be eliminated in 4 years, thanks to the implementation of the Sanitation Plan put in place for this purpose by the Local Executive.
Juan Francisco Martinez has emphasized that, given the data, the City's economy is progressing adequately thanks to the management that was done.
