The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has announced the launch of a new initiative of the Children and Youth Library that under the name As at home intends to start the smallest of the house in reading.
The Edil said that "As at home it is a reading club that has the peculiarity that it is destined jointly to children and adults, promoting the cultivation of reading in the family.Every Wednesday in July the" Pequeteca "of the Children and Youth Library, located on the 3rd floor of the Cultural Center, will host the initiative from 11 to 12 in the morning.
The activity is intended for children between 3 and 6 years old accompanied by an adult: parents, grandparents, uncles, ... The maximum number of readers estimated for each meeting will be six children accompanied by an adult, plus the librarian who will guide the club;
With this reduced capacity is intended to improve participation and promote the correct development of reading.
There will be 4 sessions (days 5, 12, 19 and 26 July) that will be independent.
The interested parties must register previously in those in which they want to participate until completing the capacity.
The inscriptions will be made in the Library itself.
Montiel said that "the library staff has prepared for these clubs different illustrated albums, poems and songs, books of knowledge, images to create stories, classic stories and texts to dramatize, among other materials, to make each meeting a fun Session of enjoyment of literature.We are very excited about this new initiative, so we can only encourage those interested to register and enjoy a new resource that joins the many activities launched by the Network of Libraries Municipal to promote reading in our municipality ".
