The director general of the SEF visits the students of a mixed program of employment and training that are undertaking works of improvement of some neighborhoods of the locality
The Community has granted to Lorca five programs that, with a total investment of 1,181,327 euros, aim to boost the labor market of the municipality, providing training and employment to the unemployed of different groups.
These initiatives are promoted by the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Enterprise, through the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).
The implementation of these has allowed the council to directly hire 89 people without local employment, through a program of local public employment and two mixed programs of employment and training, alternating theoretical classes with paid work.
Another 75 unemployed are improving their training with three courses and two training projects.
One of the two programs that are underway and alternate theoretical training and paid professional experience is 'Entrebarrios', in which a total of 32 unemployed under 30 years of Lorca, beneficiaries of Youth Guarantee, are being formed in three different professional specialties .
This initiative has a grant of 350,000 euros from SEF, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
In particular, these young people are being trained in the specialties of auxiliary operations in nurseries, gardens and garden center;
Auxiliary operations of rigid finishes and urbanization, and auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment.
After completing the theoretical part of three months, these students have been hired for nine months by the City of Lorca, to complete the eminently practical part of the program.
This period of effective employment is being developed in the refurbishment of the Atrium of San Mateo and Lope Gisbert Street, as well as in Rincón de Bautista Street.
Certificate of professionalism
After completing the training period, these students will obtain a certificate of professionalism in the specialty in which they have been trained, which is valid throughout the country and significantly increases their options of finding a job.
Specifically, these young people will be prepared to work as masons, public works and gardeners, among other positions.
The director general of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, who visited the participants of the program today in the different places where the works are being carried out, stressed that "the objective of these programs is not that the unemployed people leave for a few months of unemployment, What we are trying to do is provide them with an accredited training that will enable them to remain in the labor market. "
In addition, Zamora stressed the double social benefit of this initiative, "because in addition to providing participants with training for employment, their work will allow the remodeling and refurbishment of green areas and roads of the municipality."

Prior to the visit to the participants of the program, Alejandro Zamora attended the call for the local Employment Bureau of Lorca, which presided over the mayor of the town, Fulgencio Gil.
It addressed the various employment programs currently under way in the municipality, as well as other possible initiatives that contribute to boost the local labor market.
In addition, during the meeting analyzed the positive behavior of employment data in Lorca, where 904 people left unemployment during the last year, resulting in unemployment decreased by 15.09 percent.
