The Councilor of United Left Greens in the City of Lorca, Gloria Martín, has expressed her satisfaction at the approval in the Municipal Plenary of the motion of its formation that urges the City Council to start a Municipal Housing Plan for the period 2018-2023.
The document will be written "in a participative way" with neighbors and social and economic agents of the municipality and will become the tool that identifies and quantifies the needs of the municipality in this matter, and articulates the necessary measures to address them.
Martín thanked the good disposition of the councilor of the field, Sandra Martinez, and his support for an initiative that seeks to guarantee access to decent housing for all neighbors, as the Spanish Constitution recognizes in its art.
47. For the mayor of IU-Greens it was "fundamental" that the Consistory promote the necessary conditions to guarantee this end, regulating the use of the land in accordance with the general interest and articulating a Plan that solutions to the difficulties of access to the Housing that suffers an important part of the population.
Martín recalled that the UI proposal includes specific aid lines to facilitate the emancipation of Lorca young people under 35 years old and facilities for families who are destitute to access houses owned by financial institutions through reduced income.
It also aims to develop a specific program for actions to improve energy efficiency, as well as to address the rehabilitation of buildings, especially in the historic center and depressed areas of the municipality.
Municipal housing in San Fernando
On the other hand, the motion of IU-Greens approved this morning in the Municipal Plenary includes the commitment of the local government to allocate to a park of young housing the 59 real estate property of the City council in the district of San Fernando.
Floors will also be made available to disabled people, single parents or families with financial difficulties, following the agreement reached by Gloria Martín and Sandra Martínez.
