The companies LIMUSA and Aguas de Lorca add irregular profits worth more than three million euros

Pedro Sosa Martínez, spokesman for the Municipal Group of IU-Greens in the City of Lorca, has appeared this morning before the media to denounce the high profits of two companies that manage basic public services: LIMUSA and Aguas de Lorca.
Recently in the general meetings of both companies, a public and a mixed one, has reported the benefits obtained by them in the year closed last year.
LIMUSA accumulates a profit of 1,224,600 euros and Aguas de Lorca of 1,855,853 euros.
In total, they add up to well over 3 million euros.
Sosa recalls that the Law Governing Local Estates provides that the amount of the fees can not exceed the whole of the actual or foreseeable cost of the service or activity in question, so that in no case can these companies have benefits.
If they have them is because, quite irregularly, the citizen of Lorca is being charged more than it should be charged, hence the bulge of receipts that every two months reach all homes in Lorca.
This is evident in the case of garbage, says Sosa, which is clearly defined as a tax, and therefore, as a whole, LIMUSA can not charge the citizens of Lorca more than it costs that company to carry out the service.
Therefore, says the councilman of IU-V, that benefit of more than one million two hundred thousand euros of the municipal cleaning company irregularly leaves the pocket of the Lorca subscribers.
But, in addition, IU-V councilman abuses, regarding the rate of garbage has not corrected the injustice, often denounced by us, which means that some high-class housing, villas and mansions located in the districts of The orchard of Lorca are being deceded de facto receipts for the tax treatment of their street as fifth category, while other homes in the center and the neighborhoods of Lorca much more humble, are forced to pay bills bulky for inclusion in Streets of 1st or 2nd category.
In the case of Aguas de Lorca, the IU-V Spokesperson recalled that in November 2015 the Supreme Court issued a very clear sentence, in which it is categorically stated that the compensations that are satisfied by the users of the supply service Of drinking water must be classified as rates, regardless of the management model used.
In that sense, in January 2016, IU-V brought a motion to the Plenum of the City Council to proceed immediately to replace the current public price that is turned to citizens for the corresponding rate and its approval through the relevant Fiscal ordinance
In that plenary session they committed themselves to analyze the matter and that the legal services of the City Council elaborated a report on this, but pass the months and the years and the PP government does absolutely nothing, while the citizens of Lorca pay one of the receipts of Water more expensive of all Spain.
The conversion of the public price into a tax, as in the case of garbage, would imply a substantial reduction in the water bill paid by the citizens, since the water company could not charge its subscribers more than it costs for it globally the service.
Sosa has announced that it is the last time that this matter is taken to the Plenum of the City council, and that if the PP continues maintaining that insumption to the Law and to the Supreme Court it will force us to redirect it to the courts of justice.
