The Ministry of Finance ratifies the exclusion of Lorca from EDUSI funds and confirms the loss of 14 million to act in the Historic Quarter (26/07/2017)

Mateos assures that this new blow to our Historic Casco demonstrates the political incapacity of the current Mayor and his government team.

Nevertheless, the Spokesman of the PSOE tends his hand to the City Council of Lorca in the search of the necessary alternatives to promote the recovery of our battered Historic Quarter.

In addition, he remembers that the deadline to apply for aid is already open with a charge of 1.5% cultural, so they ask the current Mayor to endeavor to submit in a timely manner the necessary documentation so that Lorca will not again lose this aid, as already Occurred in 2015 and 2016, for requesting them late.

The Official State Gazette dated July 25 has published the definitive list of projects benefited by the EDUSI funds in its second call, among which is not included Lorca, which is the first "stumbling failure" of Mayor Gil Jódar.

This has been denounced by the PSOE Spokesman in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos.

The mayor regrets that if a few months ago, the previous Mayor failed in the first call to which Lorca aspired, when there were at stake 23.2 million euros of which "not a penny ended in our city," his heir, the Alternate mayor has also failed in the second, this time, after requesting 14 million euros to act in the Historic Quarter.

The Official State Gazette confirms the failure of the request for "more than 2,300 million of the old pesetas, from EDUSI funds, for the revitalization of the Historic Quarter".

As Mateos has advanced, last May 22 was published a "provisional resolution" in which it was announced the exclusion of Lorca from these grants.

After opening a period of allegations, the final resolution, that is to say the Resolution of July 21 of the Ministry of Finance and Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance and Public Service, published on the 25th has raised to "final" the denial of Such subsidy for Lorca.

Mateos affirms that this "new blow to our battered Historic Casco" shows the "inability" of this government team and the current Mayor to "fight" the solutions that claim the unfortunate state of our urban center, "harassed assure Years of neglect, neglect and filth. "

However, Diego José Mateos expects the government team to "correct their behavior" and decide to continue looking for alternatives to recover the 14 million euros now lost.

In this sense, the socialist head has shown again his willingness and that of his group to continue to support the City of Lorca in this search and to continue contributing in this way the collaboration in the recovery and valorization of this emblematic area of our city, As the PSOE began with the impetus of this "necessary pact" for the Historic Quarter of Lorca.

The deadline for requesting aid for the 1.5% cultural

In order not to regret the loss of support for the recovery of Lorca's heritage, such as the 14 million lost EDUSI funds, Mateos demands that the current Mayor should endeavor to present in time the documentation necessary for Lorca to benefit from The aid from the 1.5% cultural summoned by the Ministry of Development.

As happened with the EDUSI funds, the PSOE already denounced that, also because of the lack of Popular Party, Lorca stayed out of the previous calls, in 2015 and 2016, of these aids for the recovery of the Heritage, because the PP Forgot to submit the necessary documentation in time.

Therefore, Mateos demands the PP to be attentive to the deadline that has been open for 20 days, do not let this opportunity escape again, and also encourage groups to submit proposals that can benefit from the 1.5% cultural.
