IU-Verdes proposes the creation of a guide of walking routes in Lorca and signaling them with QR codes (23/08/2017)

The councilor of this training, Gloria Martín, has suggested the development of a web application, adapted for mobile devices, so that, from its location, the user can consult detailed information about the itineraries, the degree of commitment and difficulty of the route , The most important patrimonial and natural resources that have near, access to maps or to download the detailed tracing of the itinerary

The Councilor of United Left Greens, Gloria Martín, has requested the creation of a guide of walking routes in Lorca that citizens can purchase for free in print format in the house of Sport and in the office of Tourism, and also Have access, in digital format, through the website of the City Council.

In the latter case it could also contain links to the most popular mobile applications in the field of hiking (Oruxmaps, Wikiloc ...)

The mayor of IU-Verdes has proposed that the development of the trails network be determined with the participation and technical advice of the Lorca associations linked to the promotion and practice of this sport.

Martín has also suggested the incorporation of signaling on these routes through the installation of directional posts and informational and interpretative panels, highlighting the most important patrimonial resources of the area.

In addition, it has asked the inclusion of QR codes in those panels, which link to a web application, adapted for mobile devices, containing a topoguia.

In this way, from its location the user could consult detailed information about the itineraries, the degree of commitment and difficulty of the route, the most outstanding resources that have close access to maps or download the detailed itinerary.

To this information could be added another related to the environmental values of the environment, such as the most characteristic botanical species.

The QR code allows the hiker to carry all the necessary information in his mobile phone, with the advantage that he can discover for himself the patrimonial and natural value of what he is seeing through new information that from a panel or paper guide is impossible to provide , Such as the download of small audio guides.

In addition, the replacement of these panels would be less costly from the economic point of view in case of vandalism.

Martín has suggested that the first route in which these QR codes could be incorporated is that of the Cejo de los Enamorados, since it is one of the most traveled because of its proximity to the urban area.

Lastly, Martín recalled that, at the initiative of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, in 2008 a motion was approved in the Municipal Plenary whereby the City Council undertook to create a local network of footpaths in Lorca, something that has not complied.
