Adoración Peñas, Councilor of IU-Greens of the municipality of Lorca has announced that his political training will ask explanations to the government team in the next full municipal on the cost of moving a mural of the painter Muñoz Barberán.

Peñas, said that last week the mural was moved from the "City of Automobile" to the municipal warehouses, a move that has cost the municipal coffers more than 8,000 euros.

The mayor has shown that this is a figure that is excessive, taking into account the scarce distance traveled and claims that, according to experts consulted, could have been made for less than a thousand.

For IU-Greens, the fundamental problem is the lack of economic forecast of this government team, as well as the tendency to outsource municipal services and thus favor the private sector.

Specifically, he has put as an example the dynamics of operation of the council of culture, who entrusts the management of theater war or the programming of the fair and parties of the municipality to private companies, whose benefit could be used in bringing to the city major shows quality or to reduce the price of tickets to make them more accessible to all pockets.

Peñas recalled that there have been numerous occasions in which IU-Greens has proposed the municipal savings "cutting" these superfluous expenses, instead of cutting into services or municipal programs of culture, youth or social services.

In fact, they claim that the use of historic halls, which previously had municipal management could be used to house municipal buildings, would mean a significant saving in rent to the city council, which could reverse the improvement of certain services for citizens.

Regardless of the economic issue, Peñas, upon learning of this transfer, and after the "incident" of the paintings exposed to the sun in the courtyard of the Palace of Guevara, will also demand in the September plenary a greater attention and special care with the cultural works of municipal ownership, source of cultural, historical and patrimonial wealth of our locality.
