The Councilor for Health in the City of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz, recalled this morning the obligation that have to meet the owners of pets with the implementation of a chip, especially in the case of dogs.

In fact this morning we, together with the company that provided the service of collection of animals in our municipality (Cereco), to deliver two dogs that had been lost to its owner.

It is a performance developed thanks to citizen collaboration.

Maria del Carmen Ruiz explained that "this morning we are very happy that these two dogs, a female of 3 years of breed Swiss Boyero and a male of 8 years Boyero de Berne, have been able to return with their owner after getting lost. citizen collaboration and the company that is in charge of the collection of animals in the city, Cereco, the animals can return home with their family.This situation has been very satisfactory and has had a happy ending thanks to both dogs wearing the microchip So that the managers of Cereco could identify them, contact their owner and return them.

The Councilor for Health has explained that "from the City of Lorca we want to encourage Lorca to chip their animals, as it is a fundamental and mandatory, so that in case of loss the same can be returned to their owners. , from the Department of Health we are working on a municipal campaign, in collaboration with the College of Veterinarians, so that the Lorca Consistory can subsidize the chipado of dogs.

Ruiz has reported that "during the past year were incorporated into the system of identification of pets, in this case dogs, a total of 1,133 animals, of which are still discharged 1,095 and discharged 71.
