36 companies, services and professionals of Lorca already have the certificate of tourist quality in destination (24/10/2017)

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Environment, Javier Celdrán, and the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, delivered today the diplomas accrediting the Integral System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destination (SICTED) that ensure a commitment in the pursuit of excellence in the different activities and trades related to the experience that can live the tourist in the city of the sun.

Specifically, there are 14 companies, services and professionals who today obtained the diploma and join the 22 that have the badge granted by the Ministry of Tourism and which represent a commitment to the search for continuous improvement to achieve the highest standards of quality for tourists arriving in Lorca.

Also, 26 other companies and professionals are working to obtain the quality badge.

Celdrán said that "tourism in the Region and in Lorca has to keep growing and it is key to apply quality systems, such as SICTED, which is increasingly demanded by visitors and that allow to provide a satisfactory experience and marked by excellence.

SICTED is a commitment to continuous improvement and offering the best to those who visit us. "

SICTED is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by the General Secretariat of Tourism and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which work with companies and tourism services of up to 33 different trades, which influence the experience and satisfaction of the tourist who visits the destination.

Lorca was in 2005 the pioneer destination in the Region in the implementation of this initiative that supposes a methodology that provides an integral and permanent system of quality management and continuous improvement.

Other destinations such as Águilas, Mazarrón, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, San Javier and Sierra Espuña were added to this initiative.

SICTED is based on the integral awareness of destiny and the identification of common objectives of the agents involved, providing the visitor with high quality standards and common that make them deserving to wear the logo promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade and which supports the Autonomous Community.

In addition, experiences and good practices are shared "which contributes to our being more competitive and more attractive to any visitor," said Celdrán.

In the case of Lorca, the number of different trades committed to this quality system are eleven: golf courses, shops, tourist guides, restaurants and tourism companies catering, security, taxis, hotels, museums and tourist centers visitable, tourist information offices, cleaning services and other services.

"The variety of trades included in the SICTED contribute to create awareness of destination so that all participating companies and professionals feel they share the experience of the tourist and that goes from the service that receives from the merchant who attends, the restaurant where you eat, the hotel where you spend the night, the taxi driver who takes you or the municipal cleaning services or local police.

All of them help make the tourism experience unique and satisfying, "concluded Celdrán.
