Lorca shows his full support to the Security Forces and Corps, requests his wage equalization and urges the defense of democracy with determination and firmness (30/10/2017)

The Plenary of the City Council urges to act, with the tools of the Rule of Law, against the initiatives that pretend, from the illegality and against the democratic will of the whole of the Spanish people, to violate our constitutional framework and the unity of Spain.

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has reported that the City Council, unanimously, has shown his support and unconditional support to the National Police and the Civil Guard in their work of defense and protection of the rights and freedoms of all citizens and, especially, and from the constitutional legality, of national sovereignty, the Rule of Law, democracy and coexistence among Spaniards.

The First Edil has indicated that the plenary session of the Consistory has also expressed its condemnation of the systematic harassment to which its members are being subjected through violent acts, regardless of the ideology in which they are protected, as well as any type of action or statement that justifies , protect or undervalue such acts, rejecting in consequence any antidemocratic behavior that attempts against coexistence in peace and freedom and that tries to undermine the foundations of our democracy.

Fulgencio Gil has pointed out that the Municipal Plenary has urged all the Spanish institutions to use with determination and firmness, as well as proportionality and timeliness, all the mechanisms that, in defense of the sovereignty of the Spanish people and the general interest of Spain , they attribute the Constitution and the Laws.

The First Edil has said that the plenary session has also urged to act, with the tools of the Rule of Law, against the initiatives that pretend, from the illegality and against the democratic will of the Spanish people as a whole, to violate our constitutional framework and the unity from Spain.

Fulgencio Gil stressed that the Plenary, in this same line, has urged the Government of Spain to incorporate into the next laws of General State Budgets, starting next year 2018, the necessary items to be resolved within the 3 year time frame the retributive imbalances that may exist between the various members of the State Security Forces and Bodies, and, in turn, within the budgetary legal framework, to bring them closer to those of other police forces.

The Mayor has explained that since last September 20, the date on which the order of entry and registration in various ministries and technical bodies of the Generalitat of Catalonia was ordered by the Court of Instruction n ° 13 of Barcelona, and until Sunday, October 1, the day on which the illegal referendum banned by the Constitutional Court was held, the State Security Forces have been subject to constant harassment in order to prevent their agents from legitimately exercising their rights. of its functions.

All Spanish society has witnessed through the media the enormous climate of hostility and the numerous attacks suffered by members of the National Police and the Civil Guard for the simple fact of carrying out their work and defending the State of Law.

During these days, all citizens have been able to see how the protesters have insulted and even assaulted them, how they have destroyed their vehicles, how they have been surrounded for hours to block their exits, how they have informed through the Generalitat's media their movements within the territory of the Catalan Autonomous Community in order to expose them and point them out.

Facts that have motivated the Prosecutor's Office of the National High Court to file a complaint for sedition on the grounds that they would be constitutive of this and other crimes.

It must be remembered that, in the context described, the Government of the Nation has been forced to adopt measures in order to ensure compliance with the Law in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia based on the instructions of the Prosecutor's Office to prevent the holding of the referendum illegal and in accordance with the provisions of article 38.2 of the Organic Law of Security Forces and Corps that includes the intervention of the Police and Civil Guard in the maintenance of public order.

The explosions of violence to which we have referred have to do with the so-called hate crimes and are incompatible with any democratic system.

There is no room, therefore, for any type of violent attitude or coercion in order to defend a political or ideological position.

Violence is simply violence, with no justification whatsoever given the purpose intended by its authors or promoters, so that all citizens, and especially public representatives, must be united in condemning all violence, without excusing or minimizing no case facts that may attempt against the freedom and integrity of people.

It is the duty and obligation of all democratic parties to reject and categorically and systematically condemn any behavior of a violent nature-irrespective of the ideology in which they are protected-as well as any justifying action, and show their support to the Security Forces of the State in its work of defense and protection of the rights and freedoms of all citizens.

It is unfair and intolerable to be treated as enemies when the civil guards and national police officers are public servants who fulfill the responsibility of guaranteeing the freedom of all and the free exercise of our rights.

The men and women that make up these bodies are committed to the security of Spain and the Spaniards, and dedicate their lives to safeguarding the coexistence, security and tranquility of their fellow citizens, deserving for it the love, admiration and respect of the set of Spanish society.

It is for this and for many other reasons why the National Police and the Civil Guard are the two public institutions that generate more confidence as shown in the barometer of the CIS of 2015, because thanks to their daily service we are getting Spain to be in currently one of the safest countries in the world.

This motion has been raised to the Plenary Session of the City Council jointly by the Municipal Groups representing the Popular Party, PSOE and Citizens.
