The City Council decrees 3 days of mourning for the death of José María Campoy Camacho (03/11/2017)

The First Edil, Fulgencio Gil, stressed that "has been recorded in the memory of the city for being the Mayor who had to deal with the very serious damage caused by the floods of 1973, in addition to his contributions in historical research , of great cultural relevance ".

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, wanted to convey the condolences of the City Council of our city to the family of the mayor of the municipality in the period between 1973-1975, in addition to having been elected councilor of this Municipal Corporation for the Formations Democratic Coalition (CD) in 1979 and later in 1987 by Independent Solution (SI).

Once the death of Mr. José María Campoy was known, Mayor Fulgencio Gil activated the traditional institutional protocol through a Decree of the Mayor's Office that includes the declaration of 3 days of official mourning in Lorca, during which the flags located in the exterior of the installations and buildings of public organisms and official institutions will wave at half mast, while those located in interior spaces will wear black crepe as a sign of mourning.

The Mayor, Fulgencio Gil, who will transfer at 12 noon the flag of Lorca to the funeral home where his ardent chapel is located, said that "the death of José María Campoy is a sad news for all Lorca. a person who always put the name and defense of Lorca above all, providing outstanding work as both a public representative in the City Council, as exercising their professional activity in the field of law, in addition to promoting recovery cultural, historical and documentary lorquina through multiple investigations and compilations of great relevance ".

The First Edil recalled that Campoy Camacho has been recorded in the historical retreat of Lorca for being the Mayor who had to deal with the very serious damage caused by the heavy flooding that our city suffered in 1973, a few weeks after taking over Mayor's office.
