The City Council announces the sixth contest to choose the Lorca Holy Week Poster of 2018, whose participation period is open until December 12 (09/11/2017)

The Councilman of Tourism of the City council of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has announced the opening of the participation period for the sixth contest destined to choose the tourist poster of the Holy Week of Lorca.

Through it, this great religious, artistic, cultural and social celebration will be promoted.

Montiel has announced that "until December 12 at 2:00 pm the works can be presented at the Tourist Office, either in person or by post, the theme will be monographic: Holy Week of Lorca and his Biblical Parades -Passional, in a generic way in any of the manifestations and religious, cultural and artistic peculiarities that make it up.It will be appreciated to highlight the most original elements and that distinguish our Holy Week from others celebrated in other locations, such as embroidery, horse, passion of Lorca, ... ".

In this regard, it is recalled that the Department of Tourism has a bank of images of Easter that can be requested by those interested in competing.

The works must be unpublished and the work of adults residing in Spain.

Authors may use the pictorial technique (painting, watercolor, engraving, photography, ...) or signage design system that they consider appropriate, whenever possible its reproduction in print.

There are no limits in the use of colors or methods, except gold or silver ink or fluorescent colors, which should be avoided. "

As for the technical specifications, the posters must include the following texts: "Holy Week of Lorca 2018", "A Different Passion" and "Declared of International Tourist Interest".

The same design should be done in two versions that will be presented in digital format, one in Spanish and one in English.

The participating works will be presented, in their Spanish version, in a vertical direction, mounted on a rigid support prepared for exhibition (frame or cardboard), in 170 grams coated paper and glossy plastic in full color process;

The actual size of the canvas to be presented will be 50 cm.

Montiel pointed out that "the prize will consist of 1,000 euros and a diploma, thanks to the collaboration of the Obra Social La Caixa, in addition to the honor that his work represents the Holy Week of Lorca.The award will be delivered at a public event on the day of the opening of the exhibition with all the posters that have competed in the contest.The jury will be composed of members of the Department of Tourism and Culture of the City Council, who may seek the advice of third parties, an expert in fine arts, a representative of the Obra Social La Caixa and the director of the local government office, or who delegates, who will act as Secretary The decision will be made public between December 19 and 23 through a press conference whose call will be notified to the participants via email The award-winning work, in addition to becoming the poster for Holy Week, may also be used as the cover of the brochures published by the
