The City Council opens the registration period for children from 3 to 12 years old to participate in the "Christmas Schools to Conciliate and Coeducate" (04/12/2017)

This new edition will run from December 26 to January 5, 2018. The number of places available reaches a hundred and the deadline to submit applications ends on December 14, being able to make registrations in the Department of Equality, located in the CDL, in the Popular University, or in the telephones 968 46 65 29 and 968 46 66 00

The Councilors of Equality and Culture in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez and Agustín Llamas, has presented this morning a new edition of the "Christmas Schools for Reconciling and Coeducar", which will be held from December 26 to 5 January 2018 at the Popular University.

The program "Schools for Reconciling and Coeducar" aims to develop services in the municipality of Lorca to reconcile work and private life, covering the care needs of children aged between 3 and 12 years, enrolled in the centers of Infant and Primary Education of the municipality.

These conciliation services will cover the needs of children, in part of the non-school periods, while their parents are working or receiving training for employment. "

These Christmas Schools will run from December 26 to January 31, 2018, from Monday to Friday (non-holiday) from 7:45 to 15:15 hours, at the local Universidad Popular.

It should be noted that the number of places offered reaches 130. The deadline to submit applications begins today, December 4, and will be extended until the next day 14. Thus, registrations can be made in the Department of Equality, located in the CDL, at the Popular University, or on the telephone numbers 968 46 65 29 and 968 46 66 00. "

From the City of Lorca we consider it necessary to develop programs such as these "Schools to Reconcile and Coeducate" since the reconciliation of work, family and personal life is valued as an essential strategy for the achievement of equality of women and men, also contributes to achieve a new social and economic organization, where women and men can make compatible the different areas of their lives: employment, family and leisure and personal time ".

This program responds to the demands raised by different groups of citizens to the City Council, both individually and by Associations, on the need to create more services to care for and care for children in non-school periods.

From the City of Lorca we echo the requests made by our neighbors and start these Christmas Schools so that in non-school periods children can enjoy, learn and make new friends while their parents work or are trained to seek employment "

In the Christmas Schools, workshops and varied activities will be developed, such as games and presentation dynamics;

feelings expression workshop;

workshop to create a collage about Christmas with images and messages about the importance of co-education, co-responsibility and reconciliation carried out by the children participating in the program;

theater workshop to represent coeducational stories;

video library on issues related to equality and coeducation;

sewing workshop and costumes;

workshop on Christmas culture that includes visits to the Bethlehem Museum and the Bethlehem Municipal;

shopping basket workshop and organizing a Christmas party;

workshop to make visible the contributions of women in Christmas and the cultural transmission of traditions;

craft workshops for the elaboration of Christmas decorations, as well as popular games (handkerchief, hide-away, English duckling, ...);

also psychomotricity and pre-sports aimed at children from 3 to 6 years old and traditional sports such as football, basketball, involving both boys and girls.

In the different activities, English will be practiced ".

This program is promoted by the Councils of Equality and Culture, counting on a grant by the European Social Fund and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

In addition, also has the collaboration of the Department of Culture.
