New PSOE initiative to get Lorca to have study rooms "24 hours" (07/12/2017)

Socialists continue to lead this demand, in front of a Popular Party unable to fulfill its own commitments and which continues to deny Lorca students open study spaces in a more flexible schedule and according to their demands

The PSOE continues to advance in its work to ensure that Lorca has study rooms "24 hours" to provide students Lorca spaces for the preparation of their exams with a schedule "more flexible and according to their needs."

This was raised again during the past municipal plenary, in which the PSOE demanded that the Popular Party clarify when it intends to comply with the commitment that, at the initiative of the Lorca socialists, acquired to open several study rooms in the city with a 24-hour schedule, especially in the face of exam times.

The PSOE councilor, Maria Angeles Mazuecos recalls that since 2015 the Popular Party has ignored this requirement and, therefore, denying these facilities so demanded by students Lorca.

Unlike what happens, remember, in municipalities such as Puerto Lumbreras where for "years" have this type of space.

With this new initiative, the PSOE managed to re-start the commitment of the Popular Party for the opening of a space of these characteristics within the M13 youth resources center, next to the University Campus.

In this sense, Mazuecos informs that they will remain "very pending" so that they comply with this new commitment that the PP dated by the beginning of the year.

However, they say that this announcement "is still insufficient" for the demands of students from Lorca.

Mazuecos demands "more spaces and more central" to facilitate access to these services to the majority of students.

The Socialist councilor regrets that "keep calling the exams" and the Popular Party "keep coming late", denying this type of facilities, for example, are especially necessary in times like today, with the "back home" of students who during the rest of the course stay out of town and return to Lorca with the intention of taking advantage of the holidays to prepare their exams.
