The work "Jinetear" by the photographer David Giner Auñón will be the promotional poster of the Holy Week of Lorca 2018 Six visual projects have competed in the sixth contest organized by the Department of Tourism with the collaboration of (26/12/2017)

The Councilor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, along with the representative of the Obra Social "La Caixa", Agustin Pinilla, have presented the winning work of the contest for the election of the poster of the Holy Week of Lorca 2018 and that will be the promotional image of this celebration.

The work that has been imposed in the contest unanimously by the jury is "Jinetear" Lorca photographer David Giner Auñón.

The jury of the Poster Contest of Holy Week 2018 met last Wednesday under the presidency of the Councilor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, and with the participation of Agustín Llamas, Councilor for Culture, María José Martínez Villa, representative of the Obra Social "La Caixa", Eduardo Sánchez Abadie, archivist, and the tourism technicians Diana Murcia and Mari Carmen Lafuente.

In the sixth edition of the contest called for the election of the poster of Holy Week six posters made by different artists from the Region of Murcia have competed.

The jury decided unanimously to reward David Giner Auñón for this work starring an essential factor in the Lorca Pastoral Biblical Parades such as the horse.

Two horsemen characteristic of the two main brotherhoods, Paso Blanco and Paso Azul, appear confronted, challenging themselves in the middle of the race and transmitting the spectacularity of the procession from Lorca, the protagonism of the horse and the art of embroidery as an inherent element of this spectacular celebration, all this on the sand that houses a unique representation worldwide such as Lorca.

The finalists were "Al gallop", created by Jesús Esteban Peñas Segura, and "De cine", created by Carmen Ros Ortuño.

The prize that the winner will receive consists of a check worth 1,000 euros donated by the Obra Social of "La Caixa", entity that for the sixth year is backing this initiative.

The winning poster will become the promotional image of Holy Week in Lorca in the various fairs and tourist meetings in which the Department of Tourism of the City of Lorca, starting with the next edition of FITUR to be held in Madrid during the month from January.

He will also star in promotional events and promotional publications or own Easter Week Lorca, as courtships, programs or brochures.
