The City Council maintains a double control and control over the accounts of Limusa (17/01/2018)

The Consistory recalls, with regard to the criticisms expressed by C's, that the legislation establishes that commercial audits (as in the case of Limusa) are prepared by external companies

The Delegate Councilor of Limusa, Juan Francisco Martínez, stressed that the City Council has established a double control and control over the accounts of this municipal company.

In fact, Limusa is required to perform an annual audit of its accounts in compliance with article 263 et seq. Of the Capital Companies Law.

This audit, as regulated by the mercantile legislation and the new national regulation of internal control (which enters into force in the coming months) will be carried out by an external auditor registered in the Official Register of Auditors of Accounts of the Institute of Accounting and Auditing. Accounts

Juan Francisco Martínez has pointed out that audits of commercial companies (as is the case of Limusa), and that Mr. Meca confuses with a local entity, are carried out by external companies.

This is an audit to which the City Council adds the financial control of the municipal intervention service, which also supposes a guarantee of objectivity and transparency.

To clarify this type of issues, which have been registered in the ordinary framework of the operation of the Town Halls, the Ministry of Finance has already issued a report in order to clear up doubts (we attach a copy).

It should be remembered that the legislation establishes that the Financial Controller may request the support of public bodies and external companies to carry out tasks of control and audit of accounts, which endorses the work of the Consistory itself in this regard.

Regarding the criticisms leveled by Antonio Meca, we must point out that the report confirming the correct municipal action has been handed over to him, and even this issue has already been clarified repeatedly by the City Council's own officials, with whom it maintains a obsessive and unacceptable confrontation as it has transpired both in plenary sessions of the City Council and within the Board of Directors of Limusa.

In this regard, the CEO of Limusa has asked Mr. Meca not to continue paying his political frustration with officials and workers of the City, which we take advantage of to thank them and recognize the great work they do.
