Those affected by the return of aid will start mobilizations to be received by the regional president (02/02/2018)

In the notifications of the order to initiate the reinstatement of the repair aid that those affected are receiving, the Ministry of the Presidency and Development refers to the production of technical reports that show that the works are being carried out.

However, they are not serving to justify the use of the aid whose repayment CARM continues to claim along with the payment of late payment interest.

The residents of Lorca affected by the return of aid from the 2011 earthquakes will hold a new assembly next Tuesday, February 6 (8:30 pm, Cultural Center of the City) with the aim of planning collective actions of mobilization that have as objective to be received by the regional president Fernando López Miras (PP).

The call, a joint initiative of the Platform of the Affected and the United Left-Greens, will also serve to analyze the current situation and to offer information and advice to those who need it.

In that sense, the councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martin, explained that there has been no progress with respect to the victims' request that the technical inspections of the homes serve to justify the purpose of the subsidies and, therefore, , to close the files.

The CARM has sent letters to some affected people informing them that, in recent weeks, these technical reports have been carried out.

However, these documents are not serving to justify the use of public aid in the rehabilitation of housing.

In fact, the existence of the reports is communicated to those affected in a notification of the order to initiate the reinstatement of the repair aid, in which the Ministry of the Presidency and Development continues to ask the victims to proceed with the return of the subsidy. together with the payment of late interest.

Therefore, the mayor of IU-Greens said that "should not fall into triumphalist messages or transfer to those affected information lacking in truth."

"It is time to stand firm in demanding the autonomic government of a definitive solution so that, finally, the neighbors get out of this bureaucratic tangle and can continue with their lives," said Martin.

On the other hand, the mayor wanted to thank the officials of the Single Window their willingness to address the claims they have made in recent weeks from IU-Greens regarding the submission of documents.

"We have maintained some differences with this processing office but, finally, they have resolved and we want to publicly assess their efforts in this arduous task," he said.

About the Office of the Earthquake, Martin has also been interested to know if they have begun the inspections of the municipal technicians, on what has been informed that the last fringes are being outlined so that they can begin next week.

In that sense, he recalled the commitment made to the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, so that the reports made from the City Council serve so that those neighbors who no longer have access to their bills after almost seven years since the tragedy, may finally justify to the CARM the use of aid in the repair of their homes.

Gloria Martín expressed her wish that the new workers who are going to join this office, after the demand for extension of time and personnel who made their political training, stand out for their "sensitivity and effectiveness".

"All of us who are involved in this issue feel overwhelmed, but the desire to serve as best we can to neighbors immersed in uncertainty and unrest must prevail, who must find help and protection in their Administration," he concluded.
