The Governing Council has given its approval, at the proposal of the Ministry of the Presidency and Development, to the granting of a grant worth 6,936,276 euros to the City of Lorca for the reconstruction of the fairgrounds of Lorca, located in Santa Quiteria , and the culmination of the urban renewal of the neighborhood, both actions whose execution will assume the city council Lorca.
Its objective is to undertake the second phase and completion of the works of urban renewal of the neighborhood, both furniture and services, to give a better service to residents, as well as the fairground, which will expand the exhibition, commercial and business capacity from the city.
It is expected that this space will host exhibitions during the livestock, industrial and agri-food Fair (Sepor) and the International Horse Fair (Fericab), as well as handicrafts in Feramur, among others.
This action is part of the planning of actions of the regional government to continue with the reconstruction of the city, following the earthquakes of May 2011 and which is financed by the loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
