21 long-term Lorca unemployed begin to work at City Hall (19/02/2018)

This is the local public employment program for the long-term unemployed.

The beneficiaries of the same will work in different municipal departments as well as in carrying out minor repairs on public roads

The Councilor for Employment and Local Development in the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported that the Municipal Council has won a grant to implement the Local Public Employment Program aimed at long-term unemployed included in the Joint Action Program, for the acquisition of work experience and improvement of the employability of long-term unemployed persons registered in the Employment Offices, included in the Joint Action Program for long-term unemployed (PAC-PLD).

Martínez Navarro has said that this program involves hiring 21 long-term unemployed people, registered in the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia, for the realization of works or services of general and social interest by contract for work or service determined, with a duration of 6 months, whose start date is February 19 and end on August 18.

In the first program, the service of general and social interest that is going to start up consists of the advice and administrative support to different municipal departments.

We are talking about a work of remarkable social value, a genuine service of general and social interest that includes legal and legal advice, as well as administrative support to various municipal agencies in the processing of files, justification of grants and subsidies, documentation file and other administrative tasks.

The Employment Council explained that the subsidy received is € 95,816.70 and is financed by the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia and by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.

For the realization of this work of general interest will proceed to the hiring of a lawyer and 9 administrative assistants who will be providing their services in the municipal departments as is the case of the Local Development Center, Occupational Risk Prevention Service, Councilors of Equality, Family and Social Welfare, Promotion of the Historical and Monumental Quarter, Urbanism and Environment, as well as in the Municipal Services of Heritage and Contracting.

Sandra Martínez has stated that the second program consists of carrying out minor repairs to paving on public roads, placing urban furniture such as benches, bins, railings, handrails on ramps, repair of metallic elements, maintenance of road markings in signs, urban furniture in public spaces and improvement of green areas in the city of Lorca.

For the realization of these works have hired 11 workers: four officers of 1st and four of 2nd masonry, two official painters 1st and an official 1st locksmith.

The subsidy received in this case is € 144,183.30 and with a municipal contribution of € 25,000.

The Local Development Council has indicated that it should be noted that this Local Public Employment Program, which is launched today, has a total cost of € 265,000, of which 240,000 are subsidized by the Regional Employment and Training Service and 25,000 contributed by the City Council.

In addition, currently from the Department of Local Development is developing a battery of actions for training and promotion of employment also among young unemployed in the municipality.

This is an initiative that constitutes the largest commitment in this sense of the history of the municipality, covering 44 multidisciplinary projects that benefit 392 young people thanks to a global investment that exceeds the figure of 1.8 million euros.
