IU: Neighbors of Parrilla have been waiting for eight months for a response from the City Council to their problem of lack of light coupling (05/03/2018)

According to Iberdrola, the promoter of the line is the Consistory and, therefore, to which correspond the efforts to obtain a point of connection that, once made, will allow those affected to request the opening of individual files to have the electricity supply they carry claiming for nine years

The councilor of United Left-Green in the City council of Lorca, Gloria Martin, has denounced that the neighbors of the place 'Campico White', in the deputation of Parrilla, they have waited eight months a response of the councilman of Promotion and Infrastructures, Angel Mecca, about the lack of light on their farms.

Izquierda Unida denounced this problem for the last time in July 2017, and no one has since offered an explanation to the residents.

"The last thing we heard from the councilor was that a new technician had been incorporated who was catching up to solve this issue," said Martin.

The mayor recalled that the seven families affected civil works connections to bring to their land the power lines needed to provide electricity to their homes that had a cost of up to 6,000 euros per home.

However, almost nine years later, they have to continue using light-generating engines to be able to spend a few hours in their homes, where they can not reside permanently due to a lack of standardized electricity supply.

One of those affected has had to give up living in his house, where he has an agricultural farm, because he requires treatment with oxygen therapy for which it is necessary to have electricity in his home.

Another neighbor has died without having seen this problem resolved.

Martín, who this morning has returned to contact Iberdrola, stressed that the company insists that the promoter of the line is the Consistory and, therefore, to which correspond the efforts to obtain a point of connection that, once performed, will allow those affected to request the opening of individual files for new supply in each of the homes.

The mayor of IU-Greens has demanded that Meca inform families affected of the efforts made in the last year and that "desatasque" the disagreement with Iberdrola that prevents those affected have electricity in their homes.
