Antonio Garrigues Walker and D.

Jesús Sánchez-Lambas, all members of the Board of Directors of Transparency International Spain.

The ITA is a tool that measures the level of transparency to citizens and society of the 110 largest municipalities of Spain through an integrated set of 80 indicators on availability of municipal information.

The evaluation system is conducted through a questionnaire with different body's own local data elements and check if they are published on the official website of the City.

The organization conducts a preliminary study of its public with a score of 1 or 0 whether or not they are on the web.

This report is sent as an electronic questionnaire to the various councils to go up the score themselves by providing the exact location where the data are requested, or confirming the previous assessment.

Lorca UPyD regrets that our council is one of the worst rated in transparency to the post 80 of the 110 tested with 56 points, well below the 70 average.

Our Town Hall is the lowest rating to Cartagena, ranked 31 with 79 points, and Murcia, ranked 44 with 74 points.

In the detailed analysis of different aspects Lorca ranked 90 in the information on the municipal corporation with 42 points, in relations with citizens and society for 89 to 61 points, in economic and financial transparency for 78 to 37 rating points ; transparency in the procurement of services for 47 to 71 points, on transparency in planning and public works for 35 to 82.

UPyD claims the City Council to take steps to improve information transparency of its management undertaking a thorough reform of the systems used to disseminate the issues that citizens should know.

From UPyD laments that our City spends huge amounts of money in institutional advertising, as in the case of the new television which aims to implement and has a clear electoral purpose, instead of using the instruments at hand making municipal web much easier and transparent to citizens.
