Request the inclusion of the town of Lorca in the Tentative List of the Spanish state inventory (12/10/2010)

Local committee's Liberal Democratic Central Lorca-Lorca, in meeting held on September 24, 2010, agreed to launch a popular campaign to collect signatures to demand the City of Lorca, the inclusion of the town of Lorca in the List tentative inventory of the Spanish State Committee of 35th World Heritage Site, to be held on the dates of June 19 and June 29, 2011 in Bahrain, under the agreement of May 4, 1982, the Convention for protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1972, to file nomination process to select a World Heritage Lorca Humaidan, as it shows its architectural environment and historical and artistic value, a masterpiece of genius Lorca creative, witnesses an important interchange of human values, social and cultural rights, throughout its history and offers an example of unique architectural complex of the medieval period, Renaissance and Baroque architecture of our country, an example of a genuine cultural tradition own, directly associated with the tradition, with ideas, with art and literature, linked directly with the idiosyncrasies Lorca, an example for all the Spanish Levant, and of outstanding universal significance.

THE CAMPAIGN INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS:

1.Elaboracion a dossier to be delivered in the register of the City, the official request of the record request.

2.Edicion of posters and leaflets.

3.Voluntariado to collect signatures.

4.Captacion signatures in public facilities and installation of panel request in the main streets of Lorca.

5.Charlas and conferences.

6.Manifestacion in the Plaza of Spain.

This committee Local CDL-Lorquin believes that the inclusion of Lorca in the Committee of World Heritage, a lever would be a great progress and revitalize the economy of Lorca, giving a universal screening, as has happened with other Spanish cities such as Toledo, Ubeda, Baeza, The Alhambra and the Generalife, El Albaicin of Granada, the Mosque of Cordoba and its historical center, the cathedral of Burgos, the Monastery and Site of the Escorial in Madrid.
