The University of Murcia approved the creation of the Faculty of Sociosanitary on the campus of Lorca (22/10/2010)

The Governing Council of the University of Murcia, which met today in the building of convalescence, has approved the establishment of the Faculty of Sociosanitary on the campus of Lorca, for which he has been appointed dean-curator Professor Jesús Gómez Love

The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said that the appointment has also acted as associate dean Mary Ruzafa commissioner and secretary Javier García Alonso as the new center.

The constitution of the Faculty will now turn to the Social Council of the University and, subsequently, the autonomous region, which is responsible for approval.

During the meeting, the rector of Studies, Concepción Palacios, has indicated that lorquino classes on campus will begin on November 1 and are already covered the seventy positions offered in the undergraduate course and sixty of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The governing body has approved the University to sign agreements with Caja Mediterráneo to convene the new edition of the novel prize "Vargas Llosa" and the constitution of the subject "Cabrera Infante" in the latter case, along with the Foundation Gabarrón.

The Council agreed to congratulate the writer and doctor honoris causa of the University of Murcia Mario Vargas Llosa for the Nobel Prize for Literature has been awarded recently.

It has left on record my congratulations to team Cobacho government headed by the effort to achieve international excellence campus.

The chancellor has also reported the appointment of Prof. Bernardino Benito as director of the School of Tourism, and Ginés Domenech as director of the School of Osteopathy.
