The new tanks for potable water supply in the city could enter into service during the first half of next year (03/11/2010)

Environment Councilman of the City of Lorca, Melchor Morales, has reported that the new tanks for the supply and drinking water could enter service during the first half of 2011, after the last meeting of the Commonwealth of Taibilla Channel, where Morales was present, was given final approval to the award of an investment of 300,000 euros aimed at the improvement.

The mayor has indicated that the objective is that the new infrastructure to operate as before, since the change will mean a significant improvement of service.

Notably, current deposits, which are deployed in the district of Santa Maria, have already fulfilled their mission for too long and we need to have an updated infrastructure.

In fact the new deposits, located in the immediate neighborhood of San Cristobal, have a storage capacity of 60,000 m3.

In addition, it is a facility built at a higher level, thus preventing problems of low pressure in the supply network.

Melchor Morales noted that the works will begin shortly, contemplate the union of the new reservoirs to supply network that supplies the town.

This will be done by installing a new network of pipelines that will connect through the La Velica with the junction that had the foresight to install the bridge of the District during the construction of street improvements Puente La Alberca and Santo Domingo.
