Donors receive a poinsettia |
The director of Radio Cadena SER Lorca, María Isabel Cabeza, and Health Councillor of the Municipality of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, presented the second marathon of blood donation "I want to be supportive, that the chain be organized for the second consecutive year with the collaboration of the Consistory.
This charity event will be held on Thursday 2 December, a date very close to the bridge in December, aiming to provide the Health Service of Murcia the blood enough to cover all needs that may arise and avoid alarms in hospitals the Region.
In the first edition of this marathon of solidarity, in 2009, 227 people visited the cultural center and got 187 donations.
The Marathon II Blood Donation "I want to show solidarity" will be held from 10:00 to 21:00 at the Centro Cultural de la Ciudad de Lorca.
All who donate blood will be offered, by way of thanks, with a poinsettia, from local nurseries.
To celebrate this event, Radio Cadena SER Lorca performed, live, the program Hoy por Hoy Lorca from the Cultural Center.
The Marathon II Blood Donation "I want to be supportive is an initiative of Radio Lorca has the support of Lorca companies that have very much social responsibility as: Manuel Jodar Advisors, Autojupiter, Lorcauto, Aguas de Lorca and the Hospital Virgen Alcazar.
It also has the support of the Department of Health of the Municipality of Lorca and Murcia Health Service.
