The Department of Health offers nine courses in food handling for 315 people during the first half of 2011 (15/02/2011)

Health Councilmember lorquino Consistory, Antonia Lopez, has reported that "the supply of these training activities, essential for working in the hospitality industry, meat, pastry and food shops, will be adapted to demand."

Health Councilmember lorquino Consistory, Antonia Lopez, this morning a battery of six courses to obtain food handler certificate, which is approved by the Ministry of Health of the region and is essential for working in the sector hospitality, meat and food shops.

These courses will join the three already have been given so far this year, reaching to the first half of 2011 the 315 seats.

Lopez has reported that "the supply of these training activities, is adapting to the demands of citizens, so we plan to gradually increase the number of courses throughout the year."

Lopez explained that the first of these training activities will be on 21 and 22 March for the field of horticultural products (warehouses, ...) and retail trade, while the specialty most in demand for the catering (aimed at cooks, kitchen , waiters, ...), will be held on 28, 29 and 30 March.

6, 7 and 8 June will be held specialty meat and meat products, being 27, 28 and 29 June, the future course for bakery and confectionery workers.

In addition, the mayor has informed together with the president of Youth Council, Agustin Llamas, that the Department will work with this group in the teaching of a course between the partners of the member associations of the Council in order to facilitate not only its integration into employment but also for the realization of their camping and other activities carried out properly handling food.

Those interested in participating in these courses should contact the Health Department with a photocopy of your ID and pay the corresponding fees (15.7 euros).

The mayor of Health has stated that "in 2010 conducted 17 courses with a total of 568 participants, of which 10 were catering, 3 of fruits and vegetables, 2 retail, 1 carnicol establishments and other confectionery, pastry and pastries. "

Lopez has argued that "food handling courses are part of the broad range of courses offered by the City Council to improve the employability of Lorca. For this reason two of the courses conducted in 2010 catering for students be taught various programs of the Department of Employment and one to be held in collaboration with the Youth Council. "

Antonia Lopez said "in recent years both the supply and demand for municipal courses has been increasing and in 2008 there were 12 courses for 552 students and in 2009 18 courses for 710 people."

The objectives of these courses provide basic knowledge about good habits related to food handling and facilitate the provision of the manipulator certificate, proof required for training in this area.

The persons holding the food handler card dated after February 11, 2002 have to do a refresher course from 4 years and then every 2 years.

Are the same courses that make people want to get the license for the first time, the only difference is that they do test.
