CiudaLor on the current situation being experienced by employers in the hotel industry in Lorca (18/04/2011)

The new smoking ban has caused them a number of economic costs that has led to a delicate economic situation is now more than ever when the local administration should take measures to offset as much as possible this time of economic difficulty.

Reforms in recent years to separate smoking areas in bars.

Now that ban smoking in bars after events such expenses.

Covering terraces, heating, more staff to meet them, etc..

Taking into account that now the installation of terraces is not voluntary but mandatory to move forward, we ask the Mayor to review the employment rates of the terraces of the bars and not punish them with unaffordable amounts.

We believe that requiring a bar to pay over 2,300 euros for eight and a half months of occupation, (about 3,500 annually) is a blow to force them to close.

The Mayor's proposal to put fewer tables will pay less, it is unfortunate but true, you could even expand, because if you close the bar and not have to pay more taxes, as they have done more than 200 SMEs and businesses that have Lorca closed this year, some of them because the mayor does not pay the bills and ruined them.

When our municipal government put these rates so important is because they think they are a bargain these businesses, we do not understand is because they do not call and let them pay a fixed and fat that are at the expense of citizens, sure to be lined.

Signed.
