The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced today that at its meeting this morning, the Council of Ministers approved the proposal of the Minister of Education, a Royal Decree that regulates the granting of a direct subsidy the Autonomous Community of Murcia to finance measures to repair the damage to educational infrastructure as a result of earthquakes occurred on 11 May in the town of Lorca.
This assistance is aimed at those schools, both public and private arrangement situated in Lorca, but could also be included those found in neighboring areas and also damaged by the earthquake.
González Tovar added that under this heading is intended to facilitate the repair of infrastructure, equipment and educational facilities and, consequently, the restoration of educational services with quality standards prior to the earthquake.
Also, indirectly, should benefit the economic recovery with the maintenance and increase of employment in the area, while will provide an opportunity to increase the quality of infrastructure, equipment and educational facilities accessibility improvements, as well as energy savings.
This assistance complements today approved the Decree Law on urgent measures for the Council of Ministers approved last week in order to facilitate the repair of damage caused by the earthquake.
