The town of Lorca suffered on 11 May two major earthquakes that killed 9 people, major damage in the historical, social centers, education and health as well as most of its buildings, which has forced the demolition of 700 homes and other 2,300 families still unable to return to their homes because they have not received the support for rehabilitation.

The damage is valued at 1,000 million euros.

For this reason the city of Lorca maintains an account of solidarity in the Banco de Santander (with the number 0049.5017.91.2117626269) whose fund is managed by a Board composed of the three municipal groups, all three parliamentary groups of the Regional Assembly, Red Cross, Caritas, the two associations concerned and consulates in Morocco and Ecuador.

These donations are allowing aid to address urgent needs of the families of those killed and seriously injured, advances on rent subsidies promised by the State Plan to Promote Trade, and the aid of between 800 and 1,500 euro may be requested from tomorrow at the Cultural Center families who have lost their homes by the earthquake.
