The Government of Spain intended to help traders Lorca (31/08/2011)

Tovar listen to Lorca trade representatives to hear their priorities and allocate aid to boost the sector

The State contributes 1.5 million euros in the Plan for the Improvement of Competitiveness for Trade to be complemented by other support

The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, held a meeting this morning with representatives of the Trade Lorca to hear first hand the situation the same, their needs and priorities that should serve to promote one of the economic sectors most affected by the earthquake on 11 May.

At the meeting were present the directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca, headed by Eusebio Abellán, the president of Ceclor, Pedro Cazorla and President of the Union of Traders Lorca, Antonio Garcia.

Tovar Gonzalez have been informed of the contribution by the Government of Spain of € 1,500,000 from the Plan for Improving Productivity and Competitiveness of Trade in 2011, amount to be added to other grants from the State.

The Government representative informed that the amount provided under the said plan is 25% of a total budget of 6,000,000 euros.

Also the fate of the 1.5 million euros to traders Lorca was agreed at the Sectorial Commission of Commerce, chaired by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, has representation of all counselors in the field of Autonomous Communities.

Plan to Improve Productivity and Competitiveness for Trade

This plan includes measures to support small and medium-sized businesses, associations and councils, while maintaining the traditional Spanish business model by improving the competitiveness of firms and the physical environment of local commerce, avoiding the destruction of employment and improve their professional quality, allowing the human resources that are linked to this sector can provide added value in terms of expertise and service quality.

The plan includes 5-axis by any of whom may choose depending on the interests and needs of traders Lorca.

Thus the axis of Development of urban trade, preferential includes four lines of action, such as:

- Modernization of municipal markets: Construction, expansion or development of commercial facilities, Provision of equipment commonly used commercial or collective projects and technical studies, etc..

- Open-air mall that aim to provide a unified image and improved the commercial offer of a particular area or neighborhood in the center of the city, providing additional services, the adaptation and modernization of commercial establishments; Implementation and Systems Development customer loyalty, and so on.

- Pedestrianising shopping areas to increase the commercial appeal: Improving the accessibility of the shopping streets, improvement of equipment and furniture designed to promote business; Implementation and development of customer loyalty, Proceedings of promoting and operating costs the shopping, etc..

The second area is intended for the Improvement of rural trade, according to the above objectives, while the third aims at the promotion of business cooperation, with actions aimed at improving the competitive position of small businesses by strengthening the commercial associations, creation of new power purchase; Implementation of computer networks to improve the services offered by associations to their members; Development of logistics networks of storage and transportation for members, campaigns to promote the association and uptake new partners, and so on.

The fourth axis is oriented to quality and safety in commercial trade with quality certification and promotion of ICT, and generational change.

For Gonzalez Tovar: "The Trade Competitiveness Plan has several programs that can benefit fully Lorca trade because of their priority needs" and has reported that once the sector representative organizations are determined by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce established an agreement with the Autonomous Community of Murcia for effective aid.

Finally he added: "It is very important that this sector, a strategic town, have support. And they understood the Government of Spain because it has a great economic pull, but mostly it's the basis of employment and the economy of many families in the municipality that are suffering. Our obligation is to do everything in our power to get ahead in this difficult situation. "
