Expert craftsmen from disciplines such as Bethlehem, bronze, ceramics, pottery, glass, rugs, leather goods or perfume will meet at the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria

The Minister of Universities, Business and Research, José Ballesta, Lorca's mayor, Francisco Jodar Feramur director, Gregorio Gonzalez, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lorca, Eusebio Abellán, and general manager, Consumer Commerce and Handicrafts, María Dolores Alarcon, today introduced the 28th edition of the Craft Fair of the Region of Murcia 'Feramur', which will make Lorca's largest showcase of crafts from the region over the 22 to Sep. 25.

The fair has become one of the most important in Spain, this year reaching a total of three covered pavilions with an area of ​​over 5,000 square meters at the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria of Lorca, which will host a total of 114 stands of 83 exhibitors, of which 53 are in the Region of Murcia, Lorca, 19, 22 other Spanish regions and 8 international, from Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Morocco, Thailand and Indonesia.

The fair showcases the offices of life as well as new trends in the sector, encouraging the revitalization of the economy through the promotion of trade relations with buyers and professional craftsmen and foreign stockholders.

José Ballesta concluded with "regional government's appreciation to the organizing committee, the City of Lorca, chambers of commerce, especially that of Lorca, Cajamurcia Foundation and all who have to be carried out this year, where they will meet a variety of crafts that will be visited by important public figures Feramur, making this a must for professionals and individuals interested in the matter, they can enjoy in Lorca one of the more established craft fairs in our country ".

Citizens Demonstrations

Craft demonstrations are among the most important sections of 'Feramur' within their interest to serve the sector of vehicle information, since one of its main purposes is to show the public the work of hundreds of professionals dedicated to the world of crafts in the region of Murcia.

Among its attractions are, once again, the live demonstrations that teachers potters 'Association of Friends of Clay' made during the days of the fair, displaying their skill and expertise in the lathe.

Also, visitors can learn about the work of artisans who recover vanishing jobs such as those made with esparto albardín showing thumbnails and reproductions of antique furnishings.

Demonstrations will be held in the hall that has become available for that purpose within the precincts of Santa Quiteria, where visitors can see first hand the work of potters, sculptors, toy or embroiderers, among others, and also has a children's area where children can enjoy various craft activities and demonstrations.
