The president of the Chorus and Dance Group 'Ciudad de Lorca', Inmaculada Martinez de Miguel, and the Councillor of Culture of the Municipality of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, presented the XXII edition of the International Folklore Festival City Lorca, to be held Saturday 17 September and will be more groups that meet throughout its history.
Sandra Martinez explained that "for the first time since the beginning of this festival will be 11 groups, double the usually acted. The Councillor of Culture reported that the festival will open on September 16 with a new live section of Folklore, which is specified in the concert of "The Sabandeños" to benefit the victims of earthquakes, which ends with the performance of the Group Choirs and Dances of Lorca.
On Saturday September 17th will arrive in the morning the participating groups, which this year is "City of Two Sisters" of Seville, "Friends of Jack" Teruel, Municipal Dance Group Regional Municipality of Granada, Songs and Dances of Badajoz , Mazantini Ciudad Real, Los Sabandeños de Tenerife, a Colombian group and the Songs and Dances of Murcia, Cieza, Yecla and Lorca.
In the afternoon at 19:00 hours will be the official reception of the City at the Plaza de Colón, after which the groups will parade with performances by Lope Gisbert, Plaza Calderon, Calle Alporchones, slide and climb to the Plaza of Spain , where at 21:00 the festival will take place.
The mayor thanked the effort of this folk group to bring forward Lorca festival and encouraged the people of Lorca and nearby municipalities to enjoy these actions are part of the Fair and Festivals of Lorca.
