Lorca honors the flag of Spain Wednesday to mark the Columbus Day (10/10/2011)

The City encourages all citizens to participate in this event.

The event will be at 11 am in the Plaza de Colon.

Lorca City Council has organized for Wednesday October 12 to mark the Columbus Day, a commemoration of National Day of Spain and homage to the Spanish flag, to be held in the Plaza de Colón in the city, as is customary in recent years.

As explained by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, the event will begin at 11:00 hours and will consist of hoisting the national flag to the strains of the anthem of Spain, "a double pride for the entire city as it was just a Lorca, Bartolomé Pérez Casas, who composed by King Alfonso XIII, based on the arrangements of the Grenadier March ".

From the Consistory Municipal Lorca invites all to join in this celebration and homage to our flag and symbol of the Spanish nation and sign of the sovereignty, independence, unity and integrity of the country, which holds as superior values ​​constitutionally recognized freedom, justice, equality and political pluralism, all within the framework of our social and democratic state of law.

On this occasion, the first deputy mayor, Francisco Montiel, will act as the first mayor, standing in the reception that the Royal House offers the occasion of this holiday and you have been invited to show support of the Royal Family Lorca after the May 11 earthquake.
