The City notes that the Government Office does not consider "emergency spending" works in 13 school buildings close to Mother Mercy (14/10/2011)

The Consistory shares the concerns of parents of the school and remember that Mother Mercy has so far conducted six performances of withdrawal of cornices and other elements in the area and will continue to review their status

Referring to the arguments heard this morning by the PSOE in relation to the status of several properties in the vicinity of Mother Mercy College, the Speaker of Communication of the City of Lorca, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, stated that "the Consistory share concerns expressed by parents of students in this school by the state in which there are different buildings near the school. As proof, so far has acted in half a dozen times in those buildings, proceeding the removal of elements that could break off and fall into the street. In fact, both the brigades that were initiated during the emergency period (until September), as the municipal emergency services have carried out these tasks . The City Council also remains active service checkups, which runs through the city every 15 days. In any case, and in order to avoid any incident, took the opportunity to make a call on all citizens to get in touch with municipal services and the local police when they detect such a situation involving risk to the public.

The City Council has reminded the PSOE that the City Council and informed the state government delegation that presented the buildings to which they refer, as well as the need for action in 13 of these properties urgently.

However, the Delegation of the Government, against the defendant by the City Council based on technical reports, refused to include these actions within the emergency period, causing the current situation.

That is why it is "ironic" that the PSOE willing, the Lorca who pay the bills that the Government Office refuses to pay.

It should be remembered that many of these buildings are included in the 140 records returned by the Delegation of the Government, and for which the City has required a solution.
