The mayor receives a $ 3,000 solidarity aid by teachers of a course at the University of the Sea (25/01/2012)

Responsible for conducting the delivery of this collaboration has been the Rector of the University of Murcia, Jose Antonio Cobacho.

The teachers in the course entitled "hematopoietic transplantation and cell therapy, restorative medicine" gave up his salary to donate to Lorca.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, received this morning the Rector of the University of Murcia, Jose Antonio Cobacho, as well as the delegation made up of various representatives of the University of Murcia and the University of Mar, composed by Fernando Martin Vice President for Strategic Development and Training, Manuela Lopez Tenés, Director of the Universidad del Mar, José María Moraleda, Director of the course "hematopoietic transplantation and cell therapy, restorative medicine" and Professor of Internal Medicine, and by Maria del Carmen Martinez, next Director of the Universidad del Mar.

The meeting held at City Hall has been aimed at delivering financial assistance to the Bureau for Development, from the completion of the course at the University of the Sea "hematopoietic transplantation and cell therapy, restorative medicine", held from 11 to 15 July of Eagles.

Specifically, the Bureau for Development donation amount to the amount of $ 3,000.

This amount comes from the commitment of the participants in this course at the University of the Sea to help the recovery of Lorca.

Thus, all the same teachers agreed to waive their fees to be donated to the town of Lorca to help the victims of the May 11 earthquake.

The mayor stressed that it is a gesture of solidarity of great value held by all teachers of the cycle that has demonstrated its commitment to Lorca and the difficult situation we are right now.

Thanks to this support is demonstrated that solidarity can come in many different ways, which can come from any area and any space is likely to become a platform to reach out to those most in need.

As Mayor I want to convey the gratitude of the city for this contribution is a sincere gesture of support for the recovery of Lorca, and puts a grain of sand to help the earthquake victims through the Bureau for Development, which includes solidarity donations arrived in our city since 11 May and has already helped over 3,300 people.
